Oregon Rugby Sports Union (ORSU) rugby is proud to announce that we are looking to develop local youth into rugby players!

With Rugby 7s being an Olympic Sport and the recent Women’s World Cup there has been a lot of buzz associated with the world of Rugby.

ORSU plans to support that buzz at every level, with continuing to operate adult rugby clubs. But beyond the adult community we are moving forward with development of local youth athletes into rugby players.

ORSU will be hosting a series of rugby clinics for all levels of skills in the second to eighth grade age range. These camps will be led by qualified local rugby coaches that aim to share the great sport of rugby. These camps will be separated by age group and skill level to accommodate everyone in attendance. No rugby or sporting experience is necessary.

Rugby sessions will be non-contact and flag rugby until skills develop to allow to safely learn the sport. Training will be supported by Oregon Rugby and in accordance with all standards and guidelines as set by USA Rugby and SafeSport.

Girls Rugby

We knew that opportunities for girls to play rugby at a young age were sparse and we wanted to change that. We also wanted to make sure that our passion for the values of the game were heavily incorporated, which led to the idea for our values-based curriculum. From our own involvement in rugby, we knew that if we could provide the right experience for young girls, just imagine what impact that would make on their lives and the lives of others.
