Summer Updates

June 2025

Hello Newsletter Recipients from the new ORSU board president, Carter.

I feel very honored and hopeful for our future.
I also feel very fortunate to be surrounded by such an intelligent and committed board.
My vice president Bridget, secretary Puddles, treasurer Ryan, and club reps Fletch and Kimmel.

Big changes are already underway and we have plans for more in the future. Most importantly, the club’s focus is now on building a strong community. The ORSU board now controls the property management, improvements, and maintenance of our entire facility.
This responsibility will require the help and participation of all club members. In exchange, clubs will no longer be required to pay to use our facility.

We are renewing our commitment to supporting victims of domestic violence. We are making a conscious effort to enhance our support of youth rugby. The Beaverton Barbarians boys and girls now call our facility home.
We are supporting the RedHawks and have a USA Olympic player holding development camps at the ORC. Smaller changes include scoreboard improvements and more fun at the facility.

Please go out of your way to show compassion and care for each other!

Please attend the AGM on June 25, 7pm at Kell’s.
There’s going to be a bluegrass band, a drawing for a $50 door prize, and your first beer is free.
The cover is $12 at the door or $10 in advance.
Gate receipts will pay the band, make Kell’s happy, and the remainder will be split between ORSU and the Raphael House.

Cheers my friends! We are very fortunate to have the resources we have. Let’s make the most of it and get back to winning on the pitch!

The Farm is Looking Fly!

Field Maintenance back in the hands of Men’s & Women’s Teams

The first workday of summer was a success

Members of the board, women’s, and men’s sides joined forces to weed-whack, perform some water system maintenance, and mow.

Farm workdays are biweekly at noon. All are welcome to come help.

Upcoming dates are June 8 & 22 at noon

PR7’s Hosts Boys & Girls Camps at the Oregon Rugby Center

ORSU hosted Premier Rugby 7's youth program led by USA 7's standout Martin Iosefo along with a staff of star studded coaches: former team USA,  Mexico 7's, and longtime ORSU player San Juanita Moreno,  ORSU steadfast Talo Fetuaho and current ORSU club president Nathan Kimmel.
