D3 Wraps up Season with Two More Wins
November 21, 2009 -- The D3 men's side finished their fall schedule with two strong wins. The Jesters notched comprehensive wins over the Pigs (26-12) on November 14, and Eugene (22-12) on November 21. This brings ORSU's season record in league play so far to 5-2, ranking second in PNRFU D3, behind undefeated Budd Bay.


Jesters Finish Fall Season on a High
November 14, 2009 -- ORSU's D2 men's side beat the Eastside Tsunami Saturday at Fuller's Farm, 15-7, to go into the winter break with a league record of 6 wins and 2 losses. ORSU scored two tries to wing Kapeli Mapapalangi, and No. 8 Mike Lewis, with Aaron Jones converting one try and adding a penalty goal. ORSU go into the season break in second place in the PNRFU South division
, behind Snake River.

Women's Team Fundraiser - Bowling Night, Weds March 3rd
The ORSU Womens' team will hold a Bowling Night fundraiser on Wednesday, March 3rd, at 7 pm, at Interstate Bowl in North Portland. The cost is $20/person which includes shoe rental and two games. Team should have 5-6 people, and prizes will be given to the highest scoring teams. Sign your team up now! See the Facebook event page for more info, or contact Karden or Liz with questions.

ORSU Coaching Positions Open

The ORSU women's teams are seeking experienced local coaches for premier- and D1-level women's rugby. An Assistant Coach and a Forwards Coach are required - this can be the same person if qualified. These are unpaid volunteer positions, but the team may cover travel costs to away matches. Assistant Coach is responsible for D1/"B-Side" match squad for trainings and matches; Forwards Coach for Premier League and D1/"B-Side" forwards training.Trainings are Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7 - 9 pm, in SE Portland. Matches may be on Saturdays or Sundays. If interested or for more details, contact info@orsu.org.

Royce and Kmiecik on Atlantic Cup Squad
Foward Beckett Royce and back Ashley Kmiecik will represent ORSU on the US Women's National Team as the Eagles take on Canada in a two-match Atlantic Cup series on January 12 and 16, 2010. We are proud of you - go Eagles!

UPDATE: PNRFU Referee and ORSU Old Boy John Chapman is recovering from a life-threatening battle with complications from H1N1. There is a fund set up  to help John and his family with the costs of medical care. You can contribute through ORSU - donations are tax deductible. Touch League Ongoing
The Portland touch league is ongoing - no experience neede
d  and all are welcome. Touch is Sundays at 3 pm at the Reed College rugby field on SE Steele between 28th and 39th. See the Directions page (scroll down) for location and map. For more information, email Charles or check out the touch website.

In 2008, Portland Touch won their third national championship. ORSU Women's Coach Jarred Power was a member of the winning team, along with other ORSU alumni including Craig Martin.
